You don't see these too often, but man are they sweet. This Galaxie has similar lines to a '62 Impala, and they typically sell for half the price (though don't expect that to be the case for much longer). It has the original matching-numbers 352 FE big block engine and original Cruise-o-Matic auto transmission. The engine runs smooth and the car drives down the road really nicely. I had quite a hard time tracking down the correct trim and molding pieces for the 1962 Galaxie project. Since the car didn't have any of the trim and molding when I purchased it, I had to use the power of the internet to locate pictures of other Galaxies to figure out what the correct trim looked like. Then, I used eBay to purchase all of the correct pieces. Lastly, I need to figure out what the correct trim and molding clips looked like so I could start to find them as well. Background: Here is the first post about my '62 Sunliner project and here is the second post in the build thread. After finding purchasing a set of refurbished front and rear bumpers, I had to make some adjustments to the bumper supports on the front to get the new bumper to fit correctly. Since I was working by myself, I made a makeshift rig with jack stands that would allow me to position the front bumper while getting everything to line up correctly. A few weeks ago, I bought a new project 1962 Ford Galaxie. Here's the original post when I first got it home and unloaded it from the trailer. This weekend, I finally had the opportunity to wrench on the car for a bit. I dove right into disassembly and began to take out all of the old interior components. I pulled off the original hubcaps and took the wheels off so that I could sand the original wheels down and hit them with a fresh coat of new black paint. Last week, I purchased a car; a 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner! It's in pretty decent shape but it does need some work. Update: Here's the build thread. As you can see, it definitely needs a little work. I've already ordered the new tires (whitewalls), new convertible top and boot, and several trim pieces. This should deb a really fun build!
