    I’m pretty sure that all ls6 super sports had cowl induction hoods

    @ Gary, yes this was the “SS”, the one ya drooled just to get. And yes it had a vinyl. This was a very sweet car and rode excellent as well.

    SS cars were available with a wide range of options. Bench or bucket seats. Vinyl tops were an option too. Two different auto transmissions, 350 & 400 turbohydromatics or a 4 speed. Even the signature cowl induction hood was an option. All SS cars 1966 to 1970 did come with only a big block engine, 396 or larger. There were some small block SS cars in 71 or 72.

    Nice car. SS Chevelles were available in lots of different colors but the dominant color these days is definately red. Our car isn’t an SS but our Malibu still look great with a power bulge hood, white paint with black stripes, black interior and a black vinyl top.
