Tough to say... are you talking only to install it or to buy an engine and have it put in. Labor to do the install itself would probably be around $500 if you have everything lined up and all the necessary parts. If you are talking complete engine, expect to pay no less that $1000 for a nice runner or rebuilt on up to $5k for a crate engine.

You can check your local Craigslist to see if you can find a good deal on an engine and you could probably rebuild it yourself a little cheaper than that.
