Classic Nation

I'm having trouble understanding the electrical system on my 50 chev. How does the current flow. Assuming the battery, distributor, points, coil regulator, starter button, and the starter itself.  I'm trying to chase down why it won't start, and not sure the pathway of the electric flow in order to test where my problemis.. I'm not a motorhead, but generally understand vehicles. Any help would be appreciated...
