In the last week, we’ve had some great additions to our picture collection; almost 4,000 have been uploaded total, with the additions of more each day. The forum has some great discussions going on. John had some nice things to say about Classic Nation in the feedback forum:

From what I have seen, this is a pretty nice website. I would think it would be hard to bring a bunch of different car views into one place and have it work. The muscle car guys don’t seem to appreciate hot rod guys and traditional hot rod guys don’t appreciate street rod guys and total restorers don’t appreciate anyone cutting one up and vette guys don’t want to associate with anyone who is not a vette guy and on and on.
Based on the photo albums, it will become a bandwidth mother in short order….

…What does all this mean? It means Evan has a big job ahead of him. I promise to keep my eyes open and my mouth shut ( for the most part ) and try and enjoy this new website

That is the kind of stuff I like to hear. Let me know what can be imporved upon on this website. I want to make it as useful and enjoyable as possible. Classic Car Roundup #1 on ClassicNation.com

Hey classic car fans! Here is our weekly roundup which will cover what’s new on ClassicNation.com and the classic car world. We’ve had a great past two weeks, and our new members are sharing more and more pictures on our site. Here are a couple of pictures added by Bobby:

The Fastest Growing Classic Car Website on the Web!

I wanted to make a quick post to thank everyone who has joined ClassicNation.com in the past week; we have had a record number of visitors, pageviews, and activity! As expected, the new features that we launched earlier this week has been a huge success.

There have been a lot of new pictures added to the site; 1735 to be exact at the time of this posting. Granz4 has added a bunch of great pictures of vintage Mustang ads, along with listing the Stallions Gate Mustang & Ford Club.

Richard added some pictures of his awesome 55′ Chevy Pickup Truck as well. Thanks for sharing your pictures, and be sure to invite your classic car buddies to share as well.

Most classic car enthusiasts that I know have some affiliation with a car club, either a local one from their town or a national one (like Goodguys). Well - we now have a spot where you can list your classic car club in our directory! Let everyone know a little bit about what makes your club stand out and some of the events that you have!

ClassicNation.com Launches New Features

I’ve posted several times recently hinting about some really cool changes that I have been working on for a while. Well, today I am ready to let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.

I’ve just launched the Classic Nation Network - a new part of the website that functions like a social network for classic car enthusiasts and owners. Now - you’ll be able to add your own classic car pictures and videos to the site to share with everyone! Are you the promoter of a car show? Add the event to our event calendar to let the entire community know what is going on. You can also chat on the forums, post your classic cars/parts/memorabilia for sale or browse the free classic car classifieds, and post your pictures and stories on your very own blog! I’m still working on the car club directory and improving the car show event functions to allow people to share pictures from a specific car show, but those are just around the corner!

Poke around the new site and let me know what you think! And from now on, I’ll be using this main blog to highlight other Classic Nation members and share news. I’ll be using the member blog for my personal classic car blog to share my own pictures. Thanks everyone for your suggestions on the recent changes; together we’ll make this most useful and fun website of it’s kind! Be sure to invite your classic car enthusiast friends. :)

Where’s Ted’s Garage Blog?

I have been busy getting some info ready for my yearly classic car website roundup when I happened to notice that one of my favorite blogs, Teds Garage Blog hasn’t posted any new stories since July. I hope they are going to get back to it soon, because I know that this past car show season could use some wrapping-up! Guys - let me know if you need some guest blogging to keep some fresh content coming. :)

Just wanted to drop a quick note to let everyone know that I have been working on some modifications to this site which I expect to roll out very soon. In doing so, I’ll primarily keep my personal blog stuff on this blog, and I’ll reserve this main blog for highlighting some other Classic Nation members. Stay tuned!

The Picture Uploading has begun!

Over on the Network side of things, I have been frantically uploading my giant collection of pictures to share with everyone in a much easier format to swallow. I’ve now got albums on there from the past two years of Car d’Lane, a couple of the Goodguy’s shows, and the 50′ Fleetline project, and a couple others. I am about halfway there, so I thought I would take a short break and post a few more of my favorite pictures from the ones that I have been going through.

While I was on vacation in California, Nick and Dad went to the Spokane Goodguys car show. Out of the hundreds of cool classic car pictures that they took, I was able to spot a really sweet custom wagon that I had never seen before.

As you can see, this wagon has had some crazy custom work done to it. I love the deep-dish wheels. The entire stance is completely unique; definitely one of the nicest station wagons around! Nice job…
