1955 Chevy Bel Air Wagon

Buffalo, New York

$6,500

I acquired it in May of 1982. I have had the body off of the frame 2 times as per my desire to change the color. Here is a link to the pictures I have made in the many years I have had it. http://s957.photobucket.com/albums/ae56/chevytom55/?start=all The car comes with: 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 door station wagon in primer Disassembled. odometer has 55,000m miles on it. Very straight, and near painting stage. Frame off restoration in progress.Frame back on, under-chassis finished (4 New Ball Joints,A frame Bushings, front springs, front shock absorbers, and also have put in spindle bearings from a 1965 full sized Chevy, as they bolt right in, and replace the "old style" Ball Bearing style bearings, that are very iffy and could freeze up at any time on the open road. New Rear Springs and nylon mounting bushings, spring anti seperating holders(so springs do not seperate if racing, or romping on it), 538 Posi rearend strengthened for twisting or bending and completely refurbished internally)Bolted back to chassis with new Mounting bushing set, and laser centered for accuracy so the car will not be "dog tracking" down the road. Dash and interior floors painted (GM torch red). I have original ownership papers, and they are from Ohio where it was last registered. (but this was originally from California and the owner moved to Ohio) There are 2 hoods. The original hood, and the hood that was used for racing with a hood scoop on it(has a crack on the tip of the scoop, but can be cut shorter)It comes with 1 motor, a small block 1965 283 cu.in. motor, it has 305 heads on it, and really should be rebuilt before installation.  (It also has on the vin plate the V8 code as this was an original V-8 engine car). I also have as far a transmission, a 1970 turbo 400, that should be rebuilt, a turbo 350 that is partially disassembled, and needs to be rebuilt(reverse cluthces are bad), for this car has the 538 posi gears. I mentioned the 538 posi rear end, that has been strengthened, and profesionally done. It also comes with an extra (additional)stock non-posi pumpkin(that is not painted). New Bias ply Mach 70 Belted 15 inch tires mounted on New Cragar chrome reverse with wire basket wheels/with Cragar locks-n-lugs. Rear bench seat tuck-n-roll design with original front bench (not restored). 2 Plymouth Fury "high back bucket seats that have been restored, but do not match the tuck n roll design of the back seat. Brand new Hurst floor shifter in box(for automatic transmission). New full front to rear wiring harness, light bezels, door handles, weather stripping, window whiskers, window mounting rubber, tranny cross member, drive shaft loop for racing, or just safety of not getting hurt because of a broken u-juion),& extra parts from DanChuk. brake shoes, rebuilt wheel cylinders, emergency brake cables also come with this. Interior panels are new hardboard covered with diamond design black velvet. Nylene Head liner was purchased new from C+P Chevy parts in Pennsylvania, but re-sewn in plain black velvet. Other many new parts, and extras, including roll of red shag carpet for interior. I have posted all the restoration process photos here, E-mail me for information. I have owned this since May of 1982, and am to the best of my knowledge, the 3rd owner. Originally used as drag racing car(From California) Selling as I am having too many problems completing restoration because of limited physical abilities. Asking $6,500.00. Buyer must provide Own pick up for rolling body, doors all parts etc. If you are interested, Please contact me.
