Pre-War Classic Cars - who likes them?

April 28, 2008 – 1:43 pm

Ever wonder who is into the really, really old cars? The good folks over at Hemmings talk about this very topic in their new Collector Car Radio episode. It is true - you see these types of cars at events every now and then, but they are often overlooked in the mainstream press by the more common car eras being muscle cars, pony cars, ect. Any thoughts on the future of these really old cars as the hobby progresses?

  2. I do! I had a 1929 Model A business coupe. Just loved driving it and looking at it. Unfortunitly, we fell on hard times a few years ago and had to sell it. I still regret it. I thank all the folks who restore and drive them to the shows so I can look them over. Mike

  3. While I admire all vehicles with four wheels, I am afraid the majority of the fans of these older, “open fender” automobiles are gradually, and quite literally, dieing off. My dad, who integrated every one of his five sons with varying degrees of car crazyness, loved those old cars of his youth. I, on the other hand, don’t have much interest in them but do admire their lines. My interests run toward mid to late 50’s American iron and European sports cars of the late 50’s and early 60’s, although in my stable I have a 63 Ford Falcon Station Bus, all original, completely stock.

That’s the cool part of this hobby we all share, we all have varied interests.

    Let’s enjoy them all.
