Mustang Ground Effects - Getting the Lowered Look on your early Stang
December 20, 2006 – 8:11 pmMustang ground effects have become a very popular item this past year; you can see them on early Mustangs on both the east and west coast. These ground effects come in a variety of forms; most of them are fiberglass moldings that can be bolted to the cars and can be found at Mustang parts places like Mustangs Plus. In fact, Mustangs Plus had the very first mustang that I had ever seen with ground effects.

It was a 1965 Mustang Roadster that was heavily customized with a late model 5.0 engine and custom made metal ground effects.

During this car show season, I saw many Mustangs with ground effects. These two were nicely done and were at the Spokane Goodguys car show.
The guys at Mustang Plus have even started a new Mustang Roaster Project, and of course it features the popular Mustang ground effects side skirts too. Here is the car in Cherry Red. You can view the other color schemes here.

Mustang Plus is one of my favorite places to shop for Mustang parts. I picked up a front valance for my 1967 Mustang, but I haven’t put it on yet because I am not sure that I want to mess with the original look. But - I am keeping my eyes open for a 67 Mustang project that I can build into my own Mustang Roadster - with ground effects and all!
