The Buick Riviera – A True Classic Car

August 15, 2006 – 12:03 pm

It isn’t very often that I see a mid 1960s Buick Riviera. In fact, I hardly ever see them on the street around where I live. The few that I do see have such appeal that I often wonder why they aren’t more popular. I have no idea how many of these Buick’s were produced, but I sure know that a clean 1964 and 1965 Buick Riviera is one of the best looking mid sixties classic cars on the street.

I was able to capture some good pictures of these Buick’s at the Goodguys Nationals in Columbus this year. This one was set up with some nice Torque thrusters which looked great with the white pearl paint.

This 1964 Buick Riviera looked fairly stock except for the fresh paint.

Here is another sweet 1964 Buick Riviera.

And another 1964 Riv. These seemed to be more popular back east compared to the west coast.

One day I would love to build one of these mid 60s Rivieras. Until then, it looks like I will have to stick with taking pictures of them!

  2. Looks like I’m living your dream, I just bought a 1964 for $750. Body is straight but the interior is shot, and the motor is seized. but its something to work with.
