Classic Nation

Over the last few days, the popular tech news site digg.com has expanded to cater to a wider arena of news than just technology. On Monday, they released a new design which featured categories for other types of information, but classic car news doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere!

Depending on how “techie” the car news it, it may go in the technology category, but I find it very hard to place cool classic car stories on that site.

So, I went ahead and integrated some cool features into Classic Nation anyway. As you will notice, below every post is the option to “e-mail” to a friend, “add to the popular social book-marking site del.ici.ous, and to “dig this”. These are just some fun little add-ones to get the word out!

Let’s have some user discussion. What is your favorite classic car of all time?

I’ll go first. Mine would have to be a 1965 Cobra. These are the sweetest little sports cars on the planet, and I would take one over just about anything else out there.

We have been experimenting with a few different features on the site, and we have just implemented an events calendar for all classic car events. Now, obviously I don’t know of al the car shows that are all over the country, but I will list the ones that I know of and that I go to. Would love to list a bunch more so classic car enthusiasts across the country can locate an event in their area, but I need your help.

You can send me the information for your hot rod or classic car event including name, specific location, city, time and date, and I would be happy to post it!

Next Friday, over 1000 classic cars will be hitting downtown Coeur d’Alene for their annual car show and car cruise called the Car d’Lane Classic Show and Shine. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it this year, so if anyone is planning on going and taking pictures, I can post them here. The Coeur d’Alene car show is always such a fun time, and features an auction and many other classic car attractions.

The event is an all weekend event, with a classic car cruise on Friday night, and the show all weekend long. For more information, call 208-667-5986
